S for Spiritual guidance. I know that the best thing that I can do to keep my kids SAFE is to pray over them and teach them to pray. I pray that God will wrap a hedge of protection around each of my 5 children and that the Holy Spirit will give them guidance in all of their activities. I remind them that God is listening when they are in the middle of a tough test, being bullied, facing a tough decision, or when they are praying for a family member or friend. I give my kids my faith that God is with them even when I can't be. Patti Burris — Patti Burris
F for Fun. I didn’t have a whole lot of fun as I was growing up. My husband and I are making it a priority to have fun with our children. What a blessing! And it is so healing for me as well. — Thankful Mom
A for Answers. My son is forever asking question. I often wonder where they all come from. Maybe he’s bright like his dad! Anyway, rather than just giving him an answer that is designed to shut him up, I’ll often answer with a response or open ended question that encourages him to think and ask the question that is behind the question. It is really amazing the level of awareness that this child has, as well as some of the misconceptions that are in his mind. — Amazed father
R for Rules and Restrictions. I regularly provide childcare for my grandchildren. When my daughter drops them off at my house, I always ask her about the current rules in her home and if anyone is “grounded”, etc. This way I can support her in her parenting efforts. — Grandma - the "sitter"
